And the sky was made of amethyst.

Today was the debut of my animal-print heels.

The Grateful Dead t-shirt is from new year's 1990-1991, which was the first new year I ever celebrated! And by "celebrated," I mean that I probably slept through it.

Nobody rides for free.

You can see the seasons changing in the backgrounds of my pictures. It's definitely been snowing, and I wish it would stop.

Today, I felt compelled to break out this coat I thrifted a few years ago. And, while I was at it, I also broke out my Jeffrey Campbell Alexa wedges. And I did not slip on any ice or break my neck, so I was pretty pleased with the outcome.

Fueled by filth and fury.

The semester is over! I am having the time of my life-- watching John Waters movies, staying up all night and eating junk food. It is excellent.

I bought some new boots at Charlotte Russe yesterday because they were having another fabulous sale. I can't take them off. They are fantastic. And only $20!

Gravity don't mean too much to me.

You have to see this.

I've been hearing a lot about Jeffrey Campbell's Lita platforms, but I didn't particularly care for them... Until now.

They come in silver, pewter and multi-colored glitter.

Well, they're $160 and they're all sold out. But, whoa. Maybe someday.

Kiss me, you animal.

As you (should) know, My Chemical Romance's new album just came out! I went down to the mall to pick it up today at Hot Topic. No shame. Well, okay, a little bit of shame.

While I was there, I was coerced into buying a pair of ankle boots at Charlotte Russe. Actually, it didn't take much coercion. They're fabulous.

I would also highly recommend the album. Excellent purchases today.

My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.

It's that time again-- time to check out another of my fashion icons. This time around, I give you Janis Joplin!

Here she is with Big Brother and the Holding Company (wearing a really fantastic outfit):

And here she is with Grace Slick (both of whom look fabulous):

The beading, the texture, the accessories! The little glasses! I want it all.

If I can change, I hope I never know.

I spent an excellent Halloween weekend in LA this year!

I got this new dress at the Fairfax High flea market on Halloween. I also bought the neon yellow nail polish that you can faintly see.

I wore this with my nude heels and faux leather jacket to a family friend's birthday party.

The envy of the everyman.

It occurred to me that it had been a while since I bought some new shoes. I have been working quite a great deal lately, so I thought I had earned some.

I really liked these T-strap clogs from Forever 21, so I made a point to swing by today.

Shoutout to those pink socks again, too.

I'd rather go to Hell than be in purgatory.

Well, a couple of people told me to take pictures of the outfit that I was wearing today, and that was reason enough for me.

You've seen all these pieces already: Satan is Waitin' tank top, the faux leather jacket and the (not pictured) black boots that were featured back in February.

By the way, this is what I ended up looking like prior to the Alice Cooper/Rob Zombie/Murderdolls show (which was awesome):

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

I ain't evil, I'm just good lookin'.

Tomorrow I'm heading out to see the Murderdolls, Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper in Universal City! And, as if the fates are conspiring to make this really awesome for me, the delightfully Satanic shirt I ordered came in the mail today.

I couldn't be more excited! I am going to have to put a shawl on while going through airport security, though.

Couldn't be more excited!

Saccharine.

I made a weird impulse purchase today. I went to the grocery store for some dinner and got completely derailed when I noticed that they were setting up their Halloween display. Needless to say, I came away with a couple of necessities. Like these:

I happened to be wearing these socks, and I thought it made an altogether neat look. Even though these were intended to go with some "sexy" Halloween costume, they completely deserve regular rotation in your wardrobe. Don't you think?

It's poetry in motion.

Here is something that I wore quite a long time ago:

It is exceptionally hot these days (when there isn't a thunderstorm), so I can't even imagine wearing a cardigan...

This is an altered tank top that I bought this June at the Fairfax High Flea Market in Hollywood. The boutique that sold it to me is called Purrr LA. They took a picture of me trying it on to post on their website. I was wearing outrageously plaid pants that day, it happens.

We're gonna stay away forever until we're dancing on my grave.

I wanted to introduce you to another one of my fashion icons: Michael Monroe, the lead singer of Hanoi Rocks.

I cannot put into words how unbelievably stylish I find this guy. All of his clothes are absolutely perfect. He knows how to rock bright colors, contrasting colors and neon-- be still, my heart. He also knows how to accessorize and combine excessive fringe with red cowboy boots. What more can I say? I wish I could dress like this all the time.

But, while we're on the subject, the other members of Hanoi Rocks were also quite fashionable and deserve mention.

I would go into more detail, but these outfits speak for themselves. Where do you even find clothes this amazing? This band is also excellent, so everyone should thoroughly be in awe.

Are we still okay?

Recently got some new shoes. I do this all the time. Because I love shoes.

There was a "buy one, get one" sale at Charlotte Russe (my favorite), so it was clearly fate that I came away with two new pairs of shoes.

And I also scored some plain black heels, which I thought was a good investment.

I would also like to share a bit of dialogue from RuPaul's Drag U that I related to--

Raven: Do they hurt?
Linda: Not yet.
Raven: Then you need a higher heel.

You can't begin to feel.

I started following Karla's Closet a while ago because I saw her post some really neat shoes. Here is her picture:

They are the Yves Saint Laurent criss-cross strap pumps:

However, I was resigned to admire them from afar until last night when I spotted the Parker Wedge on Alloy's website.

While they're missing the criss-cross strap (which is obviously a selling point for the YSL pumps), they do have that cool heel that attracted me to them. And they come in forest green! For only $32.90, I'd say it's a fair trade.

Paint the daytime black.

Here is another July outfit!

I wore my American Apparel pocket skirt again because it is my go-to, universally-functional black skirt. Today I wore it with a striped tank top that I've had forever, high-heeled sandals from Macy's (that I've had forever) and a new faux leather jacket from Charlotte Russe. It was actually comfortable to wear the jacket when I left the house this morning, but it became so incredibly hot by the afternoon that I couldn't bear to wear it all day.

Sunday, July 4, 2010

Tomorrow's cancelled.

A couple of updates today! Here is an outfit that I wore a while ago:

My mum recently gave me this Who t-shirt, which I wore with my American Apparel pocket skirt, red-and-black flats and my heart-shaped glasses.

I also got some new shoes from Forever 21 that I love!

And I changed my hair, too. How exciting!

So manically depressed and manically dressed.

I have lots of posting to catch up on, but in the meantime, I thought I'd post some shoe inspiration. Here are some shoes that I love because they are covered in glitter and/or excessive amounts of dangly things.

These are Prada's spring 2010 "chandelier sandals," which look like something I would have really enjoyed walking around in when I was little. Actually, I'd still really enjoy walking around in them.

I can't identify these shoes, unfortunately, but I love them and I want them. Desperately. Although something tells me that I might be able to buy plain heels and a bunch of shiny decals to turn this into a DIY project.
